A Sampling of a Life’s Work
The family of Tom LaBarbera Sr., a lifelong resident of Chester, NY and a noted artist, will host a sale of his works with proceeds going to a scholarship in his name. His works will go on display at the Chester Historical Society located in the old trail station in downtown Chester beginning May 1st and running through October with a reception on Saturday, May 15th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
These works include original oils, charcoals and prints encompassing his nearly 50 years as an artist. Many of the works are representations of his World War II experiences, his love of beauty in nature, and the community that he was so much a part of and cherished. For those who are familiar with Tom’s work, this is the last time any of his paintings will be available for sale. For those who may not be familiar with his work, this web-site will show you what is available for purchase. All proceeds will be dedicated to a Chester High School art scholarship for a 2011 graduate.
If you have any questions, or would like information about purchasing any of his pieces, please contact Tom LaBarbera Jr. at his photography studio at 845-896-5922.
Although Tom passed away on October 21, 2009, his memory will live on with his family, friends and his art. Please take a moment to look at his remaining pieces that are for sale, and help keep his memory alive. All proceeds should be made payable to The Estate of Tom LaBarbera.
